Sometimes life seems to pile on more and more responsibilities, more and more financial obligations, and more and more despair. The result, stress, frustration, and overwhelm that carries over into other areas of your life.
And like that rotten apple at the bottom of the barrel, soon your joy is replaced by a rotten, smelly thought life.

In a recent channeling session, I asked Archangel Jophiel about the nature of joy. I had been going through an emotional rough patch, a midlife crisis, I supposed. I just had my book trailer released and the high of seeing my book out there soon morphed into a strange gnawing feeling that something was missing.
Is this my only legacy? I thought. Am I on purpose in life? Did I miss my life purpose? What am I going to do next? These thoughts begin to intensify and rob me of my inner joy.
In my channeling session with Archangel Jophiel I was reminded of the following quote by Abraham. “Welcome to planet earth. There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have and your work here, your lifetime career is to seek joy.”

“But how?” I asked feeling frustration begin to prick me with it’s poisonous arrows. Archangel Jophiel’s loving whispers flowed freely through my pen with these eight easy ways to reset and refresh your joy. My motto is sharing is caring, so let me share with you what I learned.

Archangel Jophiel’s eight point blueprint for joy:
1. Focus on what’s going right.
It’s easy to focus on what’s going wrong in life, but when you do that, your vibrational set point drags you down, causing you to assume that everything is going wrong. If there’s a situation currently challenging you, lift your vibration upwards by asking yourself, “If I knew what is or can be good about this, what would that be?” Continue to focus on the positives and you will quickly restore your vibrational set point and ride the contagious wave of joy.
2. Count your blessings.
When everyday life appears difficult, it’s easy to discount your blessings. Joy is your natural birthright. Joy is around you right now. Look around you right now. Make a list of all the things you can be grateful for. You woke up this morning, you have a bed to sleep on, clothes to wear, food to eat, shelter, friends and family that care about you. There are a billion reasons for joy. Let gratitude guide you back to the path of inner joy. Count your blessings no matter how small they may seem.
3. Get out in nature.
Nothing is better than a simple stroll outdoors. Nature by its very essence allows your thoughts too slow and your energy body to refresh. Nature is God’s way to beautify inside and out. It is a beautiful reminder that life is simple, that there is a natural ebb and flow to life.
4. Purge your space.
Feng Shui your joy. Where in life do you feel less than joyful? Home? Work? Relationships? Regardless of where you feel stuck start clearing and purging areas that are cluttered. Clear out your closets, desk, cupboards, drawer’s – and watch how your energy body positively responds. Cleansing and purging your space allows your energy body to be free of the heavy, stagnant energy of clutter. It refreshes and revitalizes your heart, mind, and spirit, allowing joy to flow forth like a fresh, cool spring quenching your thirst on a hot summer day.
5. Harness the power of scent.
Certain fragrances are known to have a powerful effect on the limbic system which can positively affect your moods. Surround yourself with flowers, with fragrances that you enjoy. Use essential oil blends to soothe and uplift your frazzled emotions. Aromatherapy is an easy, often overlooked, but very effective way to grow beautiful bouquets of joy that permeate every aspect of your life.
6. Live in the present moment.
It’s easy to derail your joy when you’re focusing a hundred miles in front of you. Focusing your attention too far out into the future creates frustration and mental fatigue, not only to mention overwhelm. Why not focus your energy just on what you can do today? Present moment focus means to focus on those things you can do now, today. Right now, is your point of power. Not tomorrow. Be content with today. Tomorrow will take care of itself.
Laughter is like medicine to the human body. Laughter is healing. It releases antibodies, feel good hormones, and provides you with an instant vacation away from your cares and woes. Give yourself permission to laugh and laugh often. Watch romantic comedies, read humorous stories. And more importantly, don’t take yourself and life too seriously. Laughter eases fear and fills you with joy.
8. Go forth and create.
Creativity is the outflow of joy. If you find yourself in a joyless funk, get creative! Color, paint, write, do whatever activity that ignites your passion. Create something fun that gives your joy a pleasurable boost.
