Many people have been trying to cure depression and anxiety for most of their lives.
The constant tape of critical and judgmental thoughts about one self-running all day in the mind's background does more harm than anything, even biochemistry.
Then, after a certain point, a person can't take anymore from themselves, and they start criticizing and judging everything and everyone around them because they are overflowing with negativity about themselves. Then everyone and everything around them starts to mirror the irritation and anger, and life becomes hell. It's a vicious cycle.
The problem is that most of this is going on so automatically that you may not hear it at all or accept it as it is. Lately, I keep running into the theory that depression (and the anxiety that often comes with it) is best handled with a combination of talk therapy and pharmaceuticals.
Sometimes the drugs take care of the "tape," and sometimes, they don't.
Saying affirmations, listening to subliminal recordings, and doing self-hypnosis can help. Still, sometimes your negative self-talk is so deeply ingrained it prevents you from trying them in the first place. It's the Eeyore syndrome on steroids.
And then the angels come in.
You can ask them to reprogram your subconscious and unconscious minds from a negative outlook to a positive one. They will likely lead you to outside help as well. You may be inspired to make an appointment with a doctor or a therapist or order affirmation recordings. In the meantime, believe they can help you where you can't help yourself. Every time you feel sad or anxious, ask the angels to come in and help you. You may still feel bad for a while, or you may feel relief immediately.
Hang in there and believe that they are helping you.
Some people would say that you should envision feeling great right away, and you will – like that! Snaps fingers. Well, I know how this depression works, and I'm sorry, but it just doesn't always happen like that. Not until you have had a chance to build up your self-esteem muscle. So, ask the angels to help. Imagine them throwing you a lifeline, and you've been in the deep, cold water for such a long time that it's perfectly okay if it takes you a little while to recover. If you are deep enough into negative self-talk, you'll likely beat yourself up about not feeling great immediately. Give yourself a break while the angels do what they do.
Another reason for doing this way is that the part of you that makes constant judgments tends to think it's God.
You could hand over your depression to God, but for many, many of us, God is indelibly imprinted in our minds as an incredibly harsh and judgmental being. To get out of this cycle, get away from any mental connections to judgmental emotions and into unconditional love. Angels NEVER pass judgment on people. EVER. They are focused on their specific purposes to help people (and the earth and everything in it).
If you want specific angels to ask for help from, I recommend Archangels Raphael, Metatron, and Michael. Raphael is a healer and gatekeeper, opening the way for other angels. He can attune himself to anybody very easily. He pours on the unconditional love, too. Metatron is a master of communication, and you need to relearn how to communicate with yourself.
Michael is for protection and is the chief negativity buster. And just really cool.
Call the Angels, pray to them. Your wishes and dreams are immediately fulfilled as soon as you realize the power of teaming with your Angels. Nothing is impossible for them to handle.
Here are two prayers for you from our book of angelic prayers.
An Angelic Prayer for Healing Depression

You know my heart and you know that I am battling the inner demons of depression and hopelessness. I trust your love and know that you will help me come out of this darkness. Please, calm my troubled heart. Guide me to find solace, happiness, and contentment in myself and in my life. Paint my thoughts in the brightest colors. Please, embrace me, fill my inner darkness with your healing love so that I might stand restored. Take my hand and guide me out of the dark places into the light of my soul. Remind me that, even in thedarkest moments of my life, I can be a blessing and a gift for someone. Remind me that my light always shines.
An Angelic Prayer to Calm An Overthinking Mind
Overthinking is like a disease, it only gets worse with time if left untreated. Try this angelic prayer to cure your overthinking mind!
I think too much and I know that you see the racing thoughts in my mind. Please, help me stop these thoughts from clouding my head. Please, banish all negative thoughts and stop them from rolling perpetually through my mind. Give me the strength to let go of what I can’t control and give all my worries and concerns to you. Please, help me interrupt the flow of my thoughts and break free from my inner noise. Help me let the silence unfold its peaceful and gentle power over my exhausted mind.
Remember this: every prayer is being listened to, at any time, by your Angels. Every prayer is answered and Grace is always granted. You are unconditionally loved by Angels.
Imagine that your desire has come true. Do not focus on ‘how’ it has happened, but only on the fact that it ‘has happened’. Imagine what you would like to achieve in your life, then start to feel as if you had already achieved it. In a prayer, what always matters is the feeling of being and of having what you wish for.
Imagine, for example, that you wish help from your Angels in manifesting a new job. You’ll have to be in fine tune with the essence of what you want and ‘see’ yourself in your new job. You need to dive deep into the vibes and feelings of having what you want to create. When you set an intention with a mindset of openness to receive, you affirm that what you are seeking is already being provided, is already created and made available for your use.
As you learn to clear out blocks, patterns, and karmic connections that no longer serve you, you are better able to receive your heart’s desires You start to see that all is in Divine Order and you can relax more into acceptance of what flows in your life.
To thank the Angels is really important, but not for them, because giving is their true nature. They give for the pure joy of giving. To thank them is important for you because gratitude always brings more blessings. The feeling of gratitude is like a signal that you send to the Universe showing that you are open to receive. It’s like a powerful magnet that attracts complementary energies into your life.
This is why you have to send your gratitude to the Angels even though they have no need for thanks.
